Program Description: A study of the Linux operating system, including desktop, server and enterprise environments. Including terminal emulation, use of system editors, basic Linux command, writing script files and introductory system management concepts.
Career Opportunities: The use of Linux is growing and increasing market share within the IT community. The future IT person will have to be aware if not familiar with Linux in a business environment.
NOTE: This Certificate of Proficiency is eligible for financial aid if it is a part of a financial aid eligible program such as an AS or AAS degree. Courses within the certificate may also be eligible if taken as part of a financial aid eligible program. Please check with the Financial Aid Office to determine if the Certificate of Proficiency and classes are eligible.
