Program Description
The History program is designed to expose students to a variety of history fields and to the methods used by historians. Students who complete the program will be well prepared to undertake upper division history courses or complete a four-year degree. Students should check with the department or Academic Advisor to determine which courses are transferable to other colleges within the Utah System of Higher Education.
Career Opportunities
Teaching history on the secondary and higher education levels; research for governmental agencies, private firms, and NGOs; archival, curating and museum work, etc.
Transfer/Articulation Information
Admission into a major program at a transfer institution depends upon the receiving institution’s requirements for that major. Some major programs are restricted and require special application as well as a competitive GPA. See an Academic Advisor at both SLCC and the intended receiving institution for specific articulation information.
Estimated Time to Completion
If students follow the suggestion schedule of classes, completion time is four semesters.

Students will:
