Associate of Pre-Engineering (APE) Degree General Education Requirements

Specialized associates degrees are programs of study that include extensive specialized course work intended to prepare students to start upper-division work in a specific bachelor’s degree. Specialized associate degrees require significant major courses; general education requirements may be less extensive than in AA or AS degrees. Because students might not fully complete SLCC’s general education requirements as part of the specialized degree, they are expected to satisfy remaining general education requirements in addition to upper-division requirements to earn a bachelor’s degree. SLCC engineering students should meet with the SLCC Engineering Advisor as well as a transfer advisor from the receiving institution regarding general education requirements specific to Engineering majors.
